The Department is pleased to announce that PhD student Jonathan Armoza has been given the 2017 Ian Lancashire Award by the Canadian Society for Digital Humanities for his work on a new type of computational text modeling called 'probabilistic matrix factorization'. The Department of English remembers retired faculty member, Ken Silverman, who passed away on July 7th, 2017, at age 81.
